caring in action

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Homes Foundation

our purpose

There are now more seniors in Canada than people under the age of 15 and the elderly population is growing at a rate four times faster than the population at-large.

Our Foundation believes in the importance of supporting our aging population. Our mission is to promote excellence in aging and enrich the quality of life of seniors in Montreal.

Founded on our strong heritage of Presbyterian values and community support, we raise the crucial funds needed to enhance the care, comfort, dignity, and independence of elderly people.

WHAt we do

We touch the lives of hundreds of people each year by supporting programs and activities for elderly Presbyterians in their own homes across the greater Montreal area, as well as the 70 residents who call the St-Andrew Residential Centre home.

“The Foundation enhances residents’ lives, and provides opportunities that would not otherwise be possible - from the building of the Lawrence G. McDougall Solarium and the refurbishing of the Grace Henry Lounge, to funding our much-loved therapy programs and recreation activities. The Foundation's commitment to the wellbeing of the residents continues to grow year after year, as does their staff support and appreciation.”

“We continue to appreciate the way the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Homes Foundation team is able to compassionately help our seniors navigate big choices and manage the little but not so easy everyday chores. In my role as a Minister, I have seen first hand the impact the Senior Support Program has had on our elderly and have witnessed in turn God's love and peace brought to the seniors of our Church.”
