congratulations claudette!
Please join us in wishing Claudette Surpris (former head nurse at St. Andrews) a wonderful retirement full of health, happiness and new adventures!
Due to COVID, our celebrations had to be kept small and so Claudette asked us to share her final farewell message with you:
“To the residents of St. Andrew’s and their family members, to all the staff, who I consider as my family, I want to say that it has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve and work by your side for the past 7 years. I will not say that we always saw eye to eye on everything but we always communicated our differences with respect and dignity because this is what I believe in and hope to have passed onto most.
I am taking this last opportunity to acknowledge the great work that all the teams are doing with one goal in mind, the well-being of our residents who mean the world to us.
The past year has not been an easy one for any of us. I have seen everyone fight their fear of the virus, be affected personally by the virus, but through it all, we continued the fight for the livelihood of each other and the residents. The support towards one another has been amazing and I have no doubt, will continue.
To the new PAB boursiers, I say thank you for choosing this profession and I hope that you have found your true calling.
To the COVID agents, the housekeeping/laundry staff, the kitchen staff, and maintenance, thank you for what you do every day to keep us safe and well fed (kitchen).
To the administrative agents, particularly those of you at reception, you have my gratitude for the support you gave me throughout the years, without which, I would not have been functional.
My special thanks to the auxiliaries, the foundation and its director and board of directors for the amazing financial, emotional, indefectible support you never stopped providing to the residents and staff.
To the recreation team, keep bringing the much-needed entertainment that our residents enjoy so much.
To the rehab personnel, the social worker, infection control nurse, the nurse educators, and the assistant head nurses, you have faced different challenges this past year and you have adapted your way of working to achieve the best outcome for our residents.
Last but not least to my site coordinator, my nurses, LPNs and PAB for all you did and will continue to do, receive my deepest gratitude and respect.
I will always remember you.”
