Thanks to students from JMSB!
***(March 15, 2022) UPDATE TO ARTICLE BELOW: Tudor and his delegation team placed 2nd overall! Congratulations!
We are always so appreciative of community support. We recently received a call from Tudor who is a university student at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia. The Happening Marketing inter-university competition is taking place from March 11th-13th at Sherbrooke University and will bring together 10 business schools from Eastern Canada. He explained that he and 44 of his peers were part of the Happening Marketing Delegation representing their school.
We spoke about the residents of St. Andrew’s, the effects of the pandemic, and he spoke about their project. This was followed up by an in-person meeting at St. Andrews the following week where I introduced him to Elaine Grant (Recreation department). Tudor delivered a huge decorated bin filled with treats, stuffed animals - and most importantly - hand-crafted notes and cards with messages of encouragement, friendship and love. We were overwhelmed by the lovely messages and want to highlight the importance of their efforts. This group of university students reminded our seniors that they are thought of, cared for and that they remain a valuable part of society.
Please join us in thanking them for their wonderful gesture and in wishing them the best of luck at the Happening Marketing event next week!
Here is what Tudor and his delegation shared with us:
Our goal: We were given the mandate by the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise awareness for mental health and to touch as many people as possible.
What did we do? We decided to write and craft 50 letters with kind words and distribute half of them to strangers on the street and the other half to St. Andrews to make elderly people’s day! The students also raised money to create a package with candies, teddy bears and more to be distributed as small gifts.
Our message: Be kind to one another, small actions can make people feel better.
